Learn how to modify and update draft invoices.
Which Invoices Can Be Edited
Important restrictions on invoice editing.
Draft Only
These restrictions ensure audit trail integrity and ZIMRA compliance. Once an invoice is locked, it becomes part of your official business records.
Making Changes
What you can modify on a draft invoice.
Open the Invoice
Navigate to Invoices, find the draft invoice, and click to open it. You can also click the Edit button.
Make Your Changes
You can modify:
Editable Fields
- • Customer selection
- • Invoice date and due date
- • Line items (add, remove, modify)
- • Quantities and prices
- • Discounts
- • Notes and terms
Non-Editable Fields
- • Branch (set when invoice is created)
- • Invoice number (assigned on finalize)
Save Changes
Choose how to save:
- Save and Continue: Save changes and keep editing
- Save and Close: Save changes and return to invoice list
- Discard: Cancel all changes since last save

Deleting Draft Invoices
When and how to delete unwanted drafts.
Delete a draft invoice when:
- You created a duplicate by mistake
- It was a test invoice
- The sale is no longer happening
- You want to start fresh
Open the Draft Invoice
Navigate to and open the draft invoice you want to delete.
Click Delete
Click the Delete button (usually found in the actions menu or at the bottom of the form).
Confirm Deletion
Confirm that you want to delete the invoice. This action is permanent for draft invoices.
Are you sure you want to delete this draft? This action cannot be undone.
